There is a serious and continuing safety and maintainabilty problem with Kapton wiring. Due to operational stresses, environmental factors, and material breakdown, Kapton wires have demonstrated significant failure modes leading to fires and aircraft losses. Other costs associated with Kapton wiring include replacement of LRUs, increased testing / removal costs, and loss of operational status.
Working with our partners at Richard Manufacturing of Ogden, UT, Blue performs Kapton wire replacement programs ensuring safety and lowered maintenance costs for our customers.
We look forward to working with customers to provide rewiring solutions including rewiring strategies, removal / replacement, kits, tooling, training, technical teams and/or program management. In short, the Blue / Richard team can provide any element of a re-wiring initiative including initial fleet assessment and consultation.
